Logo designs

April6

Well…this has been happening for years now. But its only now that i felt like looking back and reviewing the innumerable logo designs i have made, for individuals and companies in India and all around the globe. Some are really nice. A few have fetched laurels too, that I am proud of.

It has been quite interesting designing all of them. More interesting were the kinds of people i came in contact with during these works/assignments – vibrant, energetic, industrious, savvy, sensuous, slutty, and sometimes all these bundled into one. A major portion of these are from outside India, from the United States, Britain, Central Europe, Russia, East and South Asia. Europe has always been the most challenging in terms of the complexity of design projects that reached me. They were very meticulous, demanded high precision and wanted to see into the minutest details. Even a hairline’s thickness was sometimes vital in deciding the fate of a logo design.

Looking back, I can notice that I have graduated laboriously, but effectively and practically. The ’studying’ and ‘learning’ still goes on as each new logo project is a challenge. To be unique is not easy. Let me continue doing this… and try to be as original as possible. :)

Reading maketh a man. Well?

April25

Reading maketh a man, we have all read and heard. But what if reading un-maketh a man? Yes and yes, i have seen this happen – not once but many times. I have seen people profess what they have ‘learnt’ from their excessive ’bouts’ with their ‘latest’ fad writer. And i have seen them go back on what they have professed within a few days time; not even months. Isn’t it best to read (or whatever) and just keep it to oneself?

Just a thought.

Writing

November15

I am not very industrious when it comes to writing and reading. I just write in ‘dire’ situations and read when i come across something that i think might help me in my life and profession.

Of late, I happen to read a lot of blogs and I find that blogs enthuse me. Well, by that i do not mean casual or careless jottings by uninteresting people who ‘chance’ to come across blogging sites and do create a blog for the sake of it. Instead, I mean writings by people of substance, who mean what they say.

Since i do have my own website www.designdev.org , I thought it a good idea to incorporate this blog into my website. And i could write something whenever i feel like, too.

Hmmm…lemme see how this takes shape.
